CALLED FROM THE DESK. DELIVERED ON STAGE.

  • Conference and keynote showcalling
  • Awards and ceremonies
  • Internal town halls and broadcasts
  • Multi-day and multi-venue events

Good showcalling doesn't sound dramatic. It sounds calm. A steady voice in the headset, calling each cue a beat before it needs to happen. Speaker on stage, video to playback, music in, lights down, next slide, hold for applause. Done well, the show feels effortless to the audience and predictable to the crew. Done badly, the seams show, and the audience always notices, even when they can't say why.

Why Us

LIVE EVENTS DON'T GO TO PLAN. THEY GO TO THE PLAN.

Every live show drifts from the running order. A speaker overruns. A video doesn't play. A panel goes off on a tangent and eats the next session's time. The plan that looked perfect on Wednesday is already out of date by Thursday morning.

A good showcaller doesn't fight that. They expect it. They've already worked out what to do if the keynote runs long, if the video misfires, if the speaker walks on a beat too early. The plan is the starting point, the show is what actually happens.

We call shows the way we'd want them called for us. Calm voice, clear language, no panic, no waffle. The crew knows what's coming, the speakers know they're being looked after, and the audience just sees a show that runs.

Here's how showcalling usually works on an event.

PREP

Knowing the show before the show starts.

Run order learned. Every cue, every transition.

Content checked. Videos, decks, music, graphics.

Crew briefed. Comms set, channels confirmed.

Backup plans built. What we do if things slip.

Rehearsals attended. Where the real plan gets made.

CALLING

The steady voice in the room's ear.

Clear cue language. Same phrasing every time.

Beat ahead, not behind. Calling before the cue, not on it.

Reading the room. Adjusting pace as it actually flows.

Calm under pressure. Especially when something slips.

Real-time judgement. When to hold, when to push.

CLOSING OUT

Finishing the show clean, ready for the next one.

Live notes. Captured in the moment, not from memory.

Debrief. What worked, what didn't, what changes.

Updated running orders. For the next day.

Crew handover. Especially on multi-day shows.

Post-event report. Useful, honest, short.

WORK WE'RE PROUD OF.

We work with teams who care about how their message lands, and how their audience feels in the room. The brief might be a 15-hour global livestream, a four-day multi-market programme, or a monthly store visit with a camera and a 48-hour turnaround. Different rooms, different pressures, same obsession with getting it right. Here are a few of the projects we've loved making.

We typically respond within two hours on working days.

Questions we get alot:

A producer shapes the event before the day. A showcaller runs it on the day. The two roles overlap, and on smaller events one person sometimes does both — but on anything serious you want them as separate jobs, because each one needs your full attention to do well.

Some AV teams call beautifully. Others are brilliant at the technical job and don't want the calling responsibility — and that's fair, because it's a different skill. If you're running a show with multiple speakers, content, video roll-ins and live music, a dedicated showcaller usually pays for themselves in calmness alone.

Yes, regularly. We come into other people's events as the showcaller and pick the show up from the running order, rehearsals and tech check. We're set up to integrate quickly without disrupting the team that's been planning it for months.

Yes. Long events change shape as the days go on, and you need a showcaller who can hold the bigger picture across them — what's been promised in earlier sessions, what's coming up later, what the running order really means by day three. It's a big part of what we do.

A proper comms position with eyeline to the stage, monitors for content and timecode, and a reliable comms channel to all departments. We'll work with your AV team on the spec — we're more flexible than most about the setup, as long as the basics are right.

What We Do.

Everything we do sits across three things: the creative that shapes the story, the content and stagecraft that makes it run, and the studios we make it all in. Some clients need one. Most need all three. Whatever the mix, the aim is the same, work that lands properly when the lights go up.
